Here is a thank-you note from Dr. Harada-Shiba
Thank you so very much Dr. Patrick Leahy. I still cannot believe that the JBC have accepted my paper! Several years ago, I asked an American professor of English living in Japan to proofread my article. At that time I felt confident that he was appropriate to ask. I sent the manuscript to the JBC for publication.
Unfortunately, the reviewers specifically mentioned the ?poor English? and the paper was rejected. Please notice on the reviewers comments this time that he says ?beautifully written English.? (see the faxed comments). I am sure the standard of English is very important in our manuscripts. I will always be grateful for the proofreading you did. Please may I send you all my work in future? I believe native english speaking is not enough when proofreading a scientific article. Dr. Leahy I believe someone with your background is best for this job.
